On August 15, 2024, VIKALP celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great excitement. The event took place in LT-4, starting at 5:10 PM, and was attended by 37 students. The celebration was a wonderful mix of cultural performances and patriotic spirit, truly capturing the essence of freedom.
The event began with a volunteer explaining the importance of Independence Day, reminding everyone of the many struggles and sacrifices made by Indians to gain freedom. The atmosphere was filled with pride as another volunteer recited a touching poem that described the pride every Indian holds towards our mother nation.
The students eagerly participated, showing their talents through singing, dancing, and reciting poems. A key moment of the evening was when a volunteer explained the fundamental duties in the Indian Constitution. They stressed that, along with fighting for our rights, it is just as important to fulfill our responsibilities. This message left a strong impact on the students, highlighting that a nation’s strength comes not only from its freedom but also from the commitment of its citizens to their duties.
The event ended around 5:45 PM, and the students were given refreshments, bringing a sweet close to a memorable evening. The celebration reflected patriotism, unity, and the importance of contributing to the country’s growth.
