Dusshera Celebration

“बुराई का अंत और अच्छाई की जीत का नाम ही दशहरा है। चलो हम भी अच्छाई का साथ दें ! आओ दशहरा मनाएं और बुरे विचारों से दूर रहें।”

Event and Traditions

On this auspicious day, let us vow to rid ourselves of the inner Ravana and follow the path of truth.

Vikalp hosted a vibrant Dusshera celebration on October 13, 2024, bringing together 65 students in a lively gathering filled with cultural pride and community spirit. The event commenced with a captivating musical performance by one of the dedicated volunteers, who set the tone for the festivities with an enchanting rendition of traditional songs that resonated throughout the venue.

Following the musical performance, participants were treated to a unique portrayal of the Ramayana, presented from Sita mata’s perspective. This innovative adaptation provided a fresh and thought-provoking lens through which to view the classic tale, allowing the audience to engage with the story on a deeper level. The portrayal highlighted Sita mata’s strength, resilience, and emotional journey, captivating everyone present and sparking insightful discussions among the attendees.

To complement the enriching performances, a delightful selection of complimentary snacks was made available, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The treats, which included traditional sweets and savory items, encouraged mingling and conversation, allowing students to bond over shared tastes and experiences.

The celebration was not just an event but a unifying experience, fostering a deeper understanding of cultural heritage among the participants. It served as an opportunity to reflect on the values and lessons embedded in the Dusshera festival, emphasizing the importance of good over evil.

Overall, the Dusshera event at Vikalp was a memorable occasion that successfully promoted cultural pride, community spirit, and togetherness among the students. The enthusiasm and participation from everyone involved made it a significant highlight of the year, leaving lasting impressions and inspiring a sense of belonging within the Vikalp community.
